Objective: The present study was aimed to develop metronidazole (MNZ) loaded poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) based mucoadhesive nanoparticles (NPs) in prolonged treatment in periodontitis. Methods: Nanoparticles were prepared by using single (SE) and double (DE) emulsion method to determine the suitability of methods. Prepared NPs were evaluated for surface morpholgy, mean particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, mucoadhesion ability and invitro-drug release, Results: SEM images confirmed that NPs were of spherical shape and smooth surface. Mean particle size, of MNZ loaded NPs were found 583.28±18.22 and 872.72±63.18 prepared by SE and DE method. Similarly, polidispersity index (0.68±0.1 and 0.83±0.06) and zeta potention (-33.29±0.7 and-31.28.0.6) was found in acceptable range. Prepared NPs were surface treated with Sodium alginate (SA) to increase mucoadhesive property. It was observe that particles remain adhere till 24 hr with biological membrane. Prepared NPs allow release of MNZ upto 24 h in sustained manner. Conclusion: This study confirms that the prepared MNZ loaded NPs may be used as an better alternate with addition application such as prolonged action thus improved patient compliance

Factors affecting mobile banking adoption : an empirical study in Gwalior region

The aim of this study is to examine the factors which influence customers to adopt mobile banking. Going through the previous literature, four determinant factors have been identified. Individual variable is evaluated using a 5-point Likert-scale. Self-administered quantitative questionnaires were distributed, targeting the respondents in the Gwalior region which falls in central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, using the primary data collection method. A quantitative research technique was utilized for this exploration. A pilot investigation of 20 respondents was led to confirm the reliability of the questionnaire. Data was analysed using regression tests. The outcomes of this investigation brought the conclusion that perceived utility, perceived convenience, and perceived trust have a positive impact on the behavioural intention to adopt mobile banking whereas perceived financial costs were found to be insignificant. The paper concludes with a discussion of the exploration results and draws out a few implications for future researc

Background: The study describes the retrospective analysis of 54 cases of facial nerve palsy patients seen in our neurophysiology Laboratory during February 2016 to January 2018.Methods: Clinically diagnosed cases of facial nerve palsy encountered at neurophysiology laboratory were analyzed on the basis of their diagnosis, age, sex, side affected and their seasonal occurrence. Patients were grouped in to four age groups of 60 yr.Results: Out of total 54 facial palsy cases with the mean age of 34.39±14.25 yr, 29 (53.70%) were males and 25 (46.30%) were females. Facial palsy was most common in 21-40 yr age group (42.59%, n=23), followed by 41-60 yr age group (29.63%, n=16). Nearly equal number of cases of right sided (26; 48.15%) and left sided (28; 51.85%) facial palsy were observe. However, right side facial palsy was more common in males with right side to left side facial palsy ratio of 1.90:1 and left sided facial palsy was more common in females with right side to left side facial palsy ratio of 1:2.57.Conclusions: Facial palsy cases are uniformly distributed among males and females with preponderance of right facial palsy in males and left facial palsy in females

Steroid Pulse Therapy in the Management of Neuro-psychiatric Manifestations in an Atypical Presentation of Typhoid Fever

    Get PDF
The Typhoid fever often presents with a variety of clinical symptoms and numerous systemic complications. Neurological complications of enteric fever are relatively insidious and rare and many times late and often undiagnosed complication of typhoid fever which can change the course of illness. This is a case of blood culture-proven typhoid fever with neuropsychiatric manifestations responded well with appropriate antibiotics and steroid pulse therapy (1 gram Methylprednisolone for 3 days)

Identity Mapping Scheme with CBDS Approach to Secure MANET

    Get PDF
A MANET is considered as self administrating network in which nodes are free to come and join to communicate with various nodes. A network which has a lot of advantages for its characteristics also has disadvantage of being attacked by some malicious node. Since MANET requires that each node should posses a unique, distinct identity, Sybil attack is one of the major threat to MANET. A Sybil attack is in which a node can have different physical identity to weak the distributed MANET system. In this paper, we propose a identity mapping scheme which is implemented with the collaborative bait detection scheme for securing MANET against Sybil attack, black hole attack and gray hole attack. Approach is merged with the CBDS approach for making system more secure against various attacks. Proposed scheme is simulated on NS2 and compared with the Sybil detection scheme on various performance metrics

A NOVEL STILL IMAGE MOSAIC ALGORITHM CONSTRUCTION USING FEATURE BASED METHOD

    Get PDF
An image mosaic is a method of assembling multiple overlapping images of same scene into a larger one. The output of image mosaic will be the union of two input images. In this paper we have to use three step automatic image mosaic method. The first step is taking two input images and finding out the corners in both the images, second step is finding its matched corner and third step is its blending and we get final output mosaic. The experimental results show the proposed algorithm produces an improvement in mosaic accuracy, efficiency and robustness
